The best $10 I've spent recently...
BYU has surplus sales on occasion where they get rid of old office equipments, furniture & electronics. They had some wacky stuff, like enormous slide cabinets (think card catalogs, but for 35mm slides) and cupboards labeled with things like "aerobic" or "anaerobic". But the most unusual came home with us: a solid oak light table/desk. The girls have pretty much taken it over for tracing elaborate anime figures & each other's drawings. I intend to use it for embroidering on quilting squares, and other random craft activities. Seriously the most random, and the coolest $10 purchase for a family of crafters....

That does look cool! I can imagine the kids spending tons of time on it.
